My first hero didn't live long, he was a human thief, he died in the second room of the Gnoll cave in Caves of Chaos. This being the second room we entered in the whole dungeon it was a quick and painless death. The second hero Lord Aurther, a human fighter, has survived to the point were I use him as an NPC.
