There's a random painted highway
And a muzzle of bees
My sleeves have come unstitched
From climbing your treeAnd dogs laugh, some say they're barking
I don't think they're mean
Some people get so frightened
Of the fences in betweenAnd the sun gets passed from tree to tree
Silently, and back to me
With the breeze blown through
Pushed up against the sea
Finally back to meI'm assuming you got my message
On your machine
I'm assuming you love me
And you know what that meansSun gets passed, sea to sea
Silently, and back to me
With the breeze blown through
Pushed up above the leavesWith the breeze blown through
My head upon your knee
Half of it's you, half is me
Half of it's you, half is me
i lack the vocabulary neccesary to motivate intelligent discussion, but admire all that the screen has to unfold. i like jack nicholson, ed burns movies (except groomsmen and perhaps sidewalks of new york), charlie kaufman penned movies, christopher walken, the godfather trilogy (despite the mediocre yet passable death call that is part iii), adam goldberg, an addiction to horror (no matter how poorly executed), etc etc.
twitch city, dead like me (rip), american dad, law and order (all versions), freaks and geeks, family guy, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Still Standing, Grounded For Life & Yes Dear (all in a row), seinfeld, THE SOUP, HUMAN GIANT, and Studio 60 (rip,, now dvd!).
i've been turned onto David Sedaris...i really love his writing. Augusten Burroughs too.
i don't consider myself well read, but i do enjoy anything with articles of interest to me...artist biographies and the sort....
mags: Blackbook, Interview, Nylon, Under the Radar, Anthem and more recently Wax Poetics.
books i've read and enjoyed: The Hottest State, Demian, some stuff by Nathaniel Hawthorne...Electroboy (thanks mg)...Sex Drugs & Cocoa Puffs, parts of Killing Yourself to Live, Shopgirl, Music For Chameleons, etc etc.....you get the idea.
My Grandma, she was so kind and caring and personable...same goes for my Grandpapa...who was another one of the most incredible souls out there. people that speak what they feel despite the consequences or frowns.
other mentions musical and otherwise: Kevin Shields, Brian Eno, Dave Fridmann, Mark Linkous, Rod Serling (genius), John Peel, Nicholas Cage (even though he makes mostly mediocre films nowadays), Prince Rogers Nelson, Conan O'Brien, Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert, Longmont Potion Castle, Daria!, some of my friends.... oh and also our family friend Joseph who used to stay with us and watch Jeopardy all the time....i admired him because he seemed to know what he was doing, and he could answer a load of questions..
