EX2 originated in the early 90's. At the time I was living in Whittier where I meet Syndrome. Syndrome knew a couple of heads. He brought in Gel and Regret. Regret brought in Digit 6. So everybody knew somebody. The name EX2 was created by the whole crew, and represents Endangered Elements. We have performed live at Project Blowed, Midnight Sun, Glass House, Brain Fish and many more.One of my earliest personal influences in music comes from my mom, who used to DJ at Ocean Side. I remember watching her play those records. As I got older we moved to Pasadena & there I was introduced to the elements of hip-hop. There I meet a few heads that inspired me like Awol. Awol introduced me to the underground.I respected underground immediately. Commercialized hip-hop makes music for the money and underground hip-hop makes true music for their people and themselves. Underground stays true to the art. If you can make money that’s a plus, just stay true.Some other influences were Project Blowed heads, FreeStyle Fellowship, Hip-Hop Klan, CVE, EPMD, KRS One, N.W.A., Too Short, Ice T, X-Clan, Above the Law, James Brown, WAR, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Public Enemy, Run DMC, De La Soul, Matalica, Led Zepplin, BJork, Ghetto Boys, Portis Head and many others.We are currently creating a new album this year (2008) that we hope to complete soon. I would like to be able to educate the new generations and those to come about the real art to hip-hop.
