"Since we were born as infants and made various judgements about observable things before we had full use of our reason, we are diverted from knowledge of the truth by many prejudices. It seems that we can be liberated from these only if, once during our life, we try to doubt everything in which we find the slightest reason for doubt." -Rene Descartes
I am not arrogant enough to say I have even some of the answers, but what I will say is that we are too intelligent and informed to cling to the ideas of our forefathers simply because it was pushed into our minds from birth. Were you born a believer of your faith? No. You were socialized. Yes. Why are most believers of any faith believers? Because their culture taught them and then put pressure on them to be so. Very few individuals exist who first went on a spiritual journey, comparing all faiths, and then logically picking one. In society we don't give licenses to people until they learn to drive. So too you should not be allowed to say you know the face of God's intentions without objective examination of the reasoning which led to the formation of other faiths and lines of thinking. First examine the road which brought you to your current thinking, then make argument.
