Tia Clarke Jazz Singer

Tia Clarke is a delicious model and jazz-blues singer with a smoky, sensuous sound. Born in Washington, DC, raised as a US Air Force brat, and now living in Dover, DE; Tia is accustomed to adapting to new surroundings and accepting multicultural forms of musical expression. She has found her place singing to diverse audiences at popular venues, such as Maxwell's on Fourth Street, Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts, The Christina River Club, The Hagley Museum Soda House, Avyons Restaurant in Wilmington DE, Shades of Blue Jazz Club, Dover Air Force Base, Sydney’s Jazz Restaurant of Rehoboth Beach, The Delaware Art Company, Zanzibar Blue of Wilmington, Three Little Bakers, Smyrna Opera House, Dave Finney’s Restaurant, Dome Restaurant, and the USO Concert for the Troops. All of this talent is encased in a 5'8" model frame, with a signature baldhead and strikingly beautiful features! With that in mind, one cannot resist the temptation of tapping their feet and nodding their head to the musical splendor of Ms. TMarch 2007 New CD Release "Tia-Ke-mo"“Tia-Ke-mo” is the word I created to express Tia on chemotherapy. Early August 2005, I was diagnosed with cancer for a second time. This devastating news ripped through my family like an earthquake. It shook us from our foundation, but we found our footing again after the Cancer Treatment Centers of America gave me a second opinion.I love telling my story of how, on a fateful morning in October 2005, I responded to a TV infomercial about cancer patients surviving after being told they only had months to live. Within a few weeks I was on my way to Zion, IL, for a second opinion…and a second chance at life.This entire CD was produced while receiving my treatments throughout 2006. I had no agenda in mind as far as song selections. I mainly wanted to have something from time-to-time to look forward to. On my good days, Jim Cheadle encouraged me to come to the studio and sing a few songs.
