London based, ear-piercing, five-piece rivet-rockers, New Project , hail from the sunny shores of Australia; Home to Rolf Harris, Neighbours and seven different species of the Macademia nut. They don’t play didgeridoo’s, won’t ever be heard yelling “G’day mate!†at the top of their lungs and don’t wander around in the nude... terrorizing alligators with sticks.. but one thing they do, without a doubt in this world, is ROCK!
In February 2005, the fearless fivesome boldly paddled away from their Australian homeland, to storm the UK with their highly infectious industrial assault. Since re-locating to the Queen Of England’s shores, the band have been graciously acclaimed and embraced by various UK media sources; gaining positive reviews from the likes of Metal Hammer , Kerrang! , Tuned Magazine , Big Cheese Magazine , TotalRock radio and subba-cultcha.com , The Dose Magazine … to name but a few.
In July 2006, New Project were selected to compete at Metal Hammer’s grindingly heavy NASS festival - A ferocious 'Battle Of The Bands’ stylee festival, held in Birmingham’s massive NEC complex.
In December 2006, New Project stormed London’s top rock venue, Mean Fiddler , which was broadcast live and loud, complete with an exclusive interview, on Rockworld TV (formerly Redemption TV).
This monstrously addictive brigade managed to shift an impressive 6,000 EPs on presale alone and had several of their blindingly-heavy musical explosions featured on the Hungarian edition of anime classic, Ghost In The Shell.
They’ve shared the stage with the likes of Rose Tattoo, Skindred, 3 Inches of Blood and groups featuring members of Pitchsfhifter, The Prodigy and Faith No More.
And if that isn’t enough to wow your socks off, they’ve currently been kidnapped and tied up in a North London studio, slapping sounds together for an extraordinary full-length album - “Ultraviolent Lightâ€. The Zeus of production – Mr Dan Turner , is powerfully mastering, tinkering and fiddling with the upcoming album. Dan Turner isn’t just a pretty face. He’s brutal. He’s had the pleasure to work with the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Cradle Of Filth, Murder One, Sikth, Napalm Death, Therapy?, Anathema, 3 Inches of Blood and countless other artists, acts, ladies, gentlemen.. and chimpanzees.
New Project’s sound is extraordinary.
