About Me

Hi, I'm Dave. This is where you can hear my more artistic and ambient musical outputs with no watering down, or external songwriters and no having to fit my own visions within the constructs of others. Total freedom to do my own music in my own way. I believe that it is important for musicians to mingle with other musicians as you can learn so much, but as an artist, it is also important to do my own thing and realise my own musical visions. That is where this space comes in - the space that does not fit in with bands that I have been in. I have 2 cd's worth of my music. First is Cardinia and this represents my experiences of visiting Australia with my fiancee. Second is Sinisterism which I started in 1995 (I think) before work even commenced on Cardinia. This was to be my "perfect cd" and the theme was to try to scare people with the soundscapes I was creating. I don't quite know if that worked, but the cd is still perfect in my eyes (or is that ears?). Anyway, have a look around and a listen. Any comments would be cool but nice ones would be fantastic.
Cardinia, the fantastic debut solo album from Treiben's Dave Johnson will be released through Credo Media Productions on 23rd January 2008.

This is "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" as performed by The Australian Pink Floyd Show. The circular video screen footage was produced by BK. You'll find both of these in my top friends.

Influences: Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, FSOL, Axmondo, places I've been, people I've seen and lessons I've learned in the time in between.
Sounds Like: errrr..... Cardinia is kinda Eno-esque I guess. As for Sinisterism..... try to imagine visualizing situations and emotions as sound and then you'll partly get it. Closest comparison is FSOL's Lifeforms

Why is it....
