About Me
Syber Symon is one of the most versatile djs on the London party scene. Be it an electro set or a distinctive mix of funky, punky beats, Syber's ability to read a crowd is second to none. This talent, combined with his in-depth knowledge of music, makes for some of the sexiest, most exciting DJ sets you're likely to hear. He incorporates a staggering array of music, built up through years of djing at London underground parties, global gigs and, of course, his passion for great music.Syber began his music career as a techno DJ, playing at warehouse parties and festivals around the world. Then in Australia, 6 years ago, Sy became heavily influenced by artists like 2 Many Djs. "It was unbelievable. They struck a chord with me," he says, "and made me realise the way I could progress with my music". Sy began to explore a more electro based sound, drawing on punk rock and guitar influences, mixing these with house and techno, and making the party vibe central to his sets. "My sound is electronic with a punk attitude," he says.
"I also love the freestyle and mashed-up approach" ...These days, Sy can be found Djing at parties like the "Naked" club night alongside acts like Loose Cannons; warehouse raves and bars in Shoreditch and South East London. He's also been in the studio recently, so watch this space !!HistorySy began Djing during the mid 90s and travelled all over Europe playing at festivals and teknivals playing on sound systems like Immersion. He quickly established himself as one of the rising stars of the London party scene playing alongside the likes of Chris Liberator and DJ Ant at legendary warehouse parties like Camden Parkway cinema, Quazar and clubs like Underground Frequencies with the Headroom DJs and Glenn Wilson.A variety of gigs around the country followed at festivals like Glastonbury, Frome and the Megadog Solipse.During the late 90s, that Sly started working in central London record shop Trackheads (formerly Dragon Discs). He collaborated in the studio with D.A.V.E. the Drummer, Guy "Geezer" McAffer and DJ Ant, releasing tracks on Hydraulix, RAW, Infected and Nukleuz compilations. In March 2003, Syber took Australia by storm headlining at gigs like the Factory and Virus and hosting his own weekly radio show in Melbourne. On returning to London in 2004, Sy kept up the pressure hosting his own night, Futureshock Sounds, in London's Shoreditch. The night's killer mix of electro sleaze, warped house, punked-out beats and three deck experimentation was a resounding success. He also hosted the electro room at the eminent Chemical Warfare London club nights with guests like Billy Nasty. For 6 years Sy also worked for respected record distributors Intergroove as a buyer championing and promoting labels like Get Physical , Turbo and Crosstown Rebels to name but a few.Discography:
