Biography
The Swedish born artist Eboi (government name Ibrahima Banda) has been an aspiring rapper since junior high school but due to his mother's determination to see her son be the first member on both sides of the family to graduate from a university, earning a college degree as his first priority was instilled in him. Thus, it wasn't until he was a college sophomore in Providence, RI, USA, that he started paying attention to what his cousin and childhood friend T had begun to work on back in sweden- RMH Records.
At the time, RMH was looking very different from today and the label consisted of friends that shared a common goal which was making good music. His cousin T was in charge of promotion and he introduced Eboi to RMH CEO Babak Azarmi who later became an instrumental influence in Eboi's persuit to success. Due to the fact that he was residing overseas and was focused on his college studies, Eboi never established a longterm relationship with RMH. It wasn't until he had graduated with a business degree and was temporarily living in Sweden that he once again crossed paths with Babak Azarmi.No longer connected through T who was serving a 3,5 year sentence, the two began to talk about seriously working together on a professional level, perhaps making Eboi an official member of RMH. That would make him the only other rap artist on the label besides Adam Tensta who had already started to get a serious buzz on the Swedish underground hiphop scene. Adam Tensta's Bangin On The System remix featured by Swedish rapper Promoe was the perfect time for Babak and RMH President Thomas Gunnarsson to put Eboi to the test and see if he was cut from the same cloth that RMH was wearing. The remix became an underground hit and the beginning of Eboi and RMH working in synergy towards becoming an independant label with worldwide exposure.
Being of mixed descent Eboi grew up interacting with multiple cultures. Born in Sweden with a father from The Gambia, West Africa and family in Texas and Oklahoma, his adaptability to new environments and new cultures developed rapidly from an early age. Spending a lot of time with his family in Texas and Oklahoma, his down south accent became increasingly prominent from junior high and up. In addition to his accent, Eboi also became increasingly influenced by dirty south rap music which at the time had not yet become a sound absorbed nationwide, let alone worldwide. However, he was engulfed by the distinguished dirty south kicks and snares rythms and the bounce tracks that allowed him to apply his rapid, streamlined, signature flows that he was known for from the first tracks he ever recorded.
Eboi is signed to RMH Entertainment as the only other artist besides Adam Tensta. The latter has during the course of the past few months earned himself the position as Sweden's newest and hottest hiphop and dance artist which was honored by a grammy in early 2008. Eboi has been accompanying Adam Tensta as his hypeman since early summer of 2007 and the two have become a tight knit duo on stage as well as in the studio where Adam Tensta's newly found sound has influenced Eboi to the extent he can be found on several house oriented tracks such as S.T.O.L.D and Dopeboy, both represented on Adam Tensta's grammy award winning debut album It's a Tensta Thing.
In his persuit to make a name for himself, Eboi is currently working on his mixtape, other mixtape collaborations, posting new freestyles on myspace/youtube on a weekly basis as well as hosting the RMH radioshow, the Monday Morning Show, together with Dj Rooftop which is expected to be launched in late February at www.vibes46.com.
