Friends,When I saw the folks who were left behind when Hurricane Katrina
struck, I was shocked, saddened, angered and ashamed.I knew what I saw was wrong. Now I'm determined to do what I can
to make sure this never happens again.I wanted to let you know about a group that recently formed to make
that happen. I just signed on to their pledge, and I wanted to invite

Black folks and their allies--who are willing to take a simple
pledge: to protect those of us who are struggling at the margins, to
make sure they're not left behind again, and to help all of us gain a
