THE STEREOTYPEZ are a unique blend of conscious yet clever lyrics with soulful and southern beats. The group was formed in May of 2006 and consists of Blake “Micestro†German and Patrick “Radcliffe Hyphen†Sullivan. The duo hailing from Decatur, GA met while in first grade and have been best friends ever since, but it wasn’t until they reached their freshmen year in high school that they realized their love for hip hop and have been making music together ever since. Radcliffe Hyphen was born on May 17, 1985 in Detroit, Michigan, and later moved to Decatur, GA at the age of 2 From a young age Radcliffe has been influenced by music off all types citing Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and Steve Miller has some of his early heroes. Radcliffe Hyphen uses many of the trials and tribulations as inspiration for his lyrics while still keeping his sense of humor and humility. Radcliffe is credited for giving the group the name because he felt that he is tired of seeing the stereotypes in hip hop which range from content to color. He believes that he can only be himself and is unwilling to change who he is in order to fill a void. Radcliffe provides the lead vocals while also writing all the songs.
