The average meat eater is responsible for the brutal deaths in hidden away abattoirs of over two thousand animals during his or her own life time
Animals Have Feelings Too
If there is a hell on earth, it is what beastly acts humans do to animals en masse to extract their body parts for our plates, medicines and clothing.
Be there a hell after this life, that surely must be where humanity is destined for doing what we do unto these poor beasts in the many billions when we alone should know better.
When it comes to eating animals (mammals, birds & sealife)
I think everybody has that capacity
to stop and think and say,
"If I knew you, I wouldn't eat you."

About Me
Apart from being really good looking, and I mean r-e-a-l-l-y good looking, I'm just a really shallow fellow.
But I'm obviously very serious about Compassion. I believe that those who are treated with the greatest cruelty should be first in line to be relieved from this. We all know that animals feel pain. We all know that inflicting pain is cruel. Yet we justify what we do arguing that animals are stupid or that they don't genuinely feel pain. Since when was "stupidity" a criterion of whether someone deserves to be brutally killed? If that was the case, there are many people I have met who should have ended up on my dinner table. Who has truly observed animals or watched a David Attenborough episode who can claim that animals are not wonderfully creative and intelligent in their own way.
Besides, if we were so intelligent, why is it that we alone are to blame for destroying the planet on which we depend? How is that so smart?
Kind of ironically, it is our overbreeding of cattle and landclearing for this purpose that has contributed in a very high proportion to the greenhouse effect bringing about the hazardous climate change we now face.
As for the philistine who might contend that animals don't feel pain, I just don't believe you believe that and can only see just how determined you are to justify the terror for which you are responsible every time you contribute funds to the meat and other industries that brutalise billions of bemused innocent animals.
MAKE THE CONNECTION!
Looking at it from the other end... imagine if we finally extended Compassion to animals. This would revolutionise the way we related ourselves to the planet and to each other. By doing this, we would inevitably have learnt to be compassionate also to each other. At the same time, one of the best things we can do to reverse the greenhouse effect is to stop eating meat. Then of course there are the immense health benefits and longevity statistics pertaining to vegans. So why not start then with the worst victims, why not stop eating meat?? (Good for you, good for them, good for your environment.)
Elsewhere Bar
On the Gold Coast I have the awesome honour of being a director of Elsewhere Bar. No single person really owns Elsewhere - the club genuinely is a wicked little community of people who are just dedicated - as staff or guests - and the place manifests like an organic project that just continues to evolve. Though our guests have included international and local notables such as the boys from Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, David Wenham, Mick Fanning, it really is the palpable sense of "culture" in the club which makes me proud to be part of this project. That makes it all sound very sensible and responsible. And you are absolutely right if you believe that I've never had fun in there, never had a little bit too much nor stayed up a little too late with very naughty people.
Reality
You know how they say truth is stranger than fiction. Well, I've discovered that true beauty and joy is to be found in reality as it is. The trick is in observing it. Yoga has helped me realise this, it has helped me to understand the physical realm better in order to help me focus the mind. Pilates has been a good supplement to this. Surfing... well... just surfing! Need I say more?
Family and Friends
Words just won't do these feelings and relationships justice right now.
