About Me

I come from a semi-small town between Atlanta and Macon. I was given a guitar when I was in middle school and didn't really know what to do with it. I put new strings on it but didn't know how to tune it much less play anything close to a chord. I managed to drill a bunch of holes in the guitar because I was a destructive kid who spent a lot of time grounded in his room. Did I mention I was always in trouble at home?
After high school I joined the U.S. Army and met several soldiers that played guitar. I started to get the itch so I asked for a guitar for Christmas when I was 21. With the help of a few friends, chord books, and song books, I managed to pick up a few sorely played cover songs. Having never taken guitar or vocal lessons, I learned everything on my own. I knew nothing about guitars so I purchased a few over the years. Mostly acoustic guitars but a few electrics here and there which I usually sold a few months after purchase because I never played them. I've just always had a love for the intimate sound of an acoustic guitar.
For the next 7 years, I'd pick up my guitar, play for a few months and then put it down for a few months. It wasn't until the winter of 2006 that I started getting serious. Several occurrences in my life influenced me to start writing my own songs and learn cover songs that had meaning to me. At the time, my sister was a bartender at a local pub and she convinced them to let me play on Monday nights. The only problem was they didn't have a PA and neither did I. I'm a huge UGA fan and had given a friend money to purchase season tickets for the following season. The deal fell through and he gave me the money back. As bad as I hate to say it, losing those season tickets was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It was just enough to afford an entry level PA with all the trimmings. I played my first gig at Locos Deli and Pub in McDonough on April 23rd, 2007.
Since then, I have placed runner up in the Eleven Mile Music Summer Shootout Open Mic, played several charity gigs including 500 Songs for Kids at Smiths Ole Bar, recorded numerous songs, released a short 5 song demo, and managed to make music my full time job (while going to school). I have shared the stage with Gary Pfaff (Gary Pfaff and the Heartwells), Christopher Alan Yates (The Vagabonds), Brian Cameron Wilson (Wilson Black, Brian Wilson and Friends), Jonathan Parrot (Eleven Standing Still), Tommy Thompson (Ultradrive), Matt Thien, Clint Bussey (Before the Solstice), Jamal Hafza (Calling All Stars), Shane Meade (Shane Meade and The Sound), Herb Jones, Big Sapelo, and countless other local and regional artists. I have played on stages from Atlanta to Tampa. My vocal and guitar skills are continuously growing and I love what I do. If you, or anyone you know is looking for solo acoustic entertainment, please contact me and I will be happy to oblige.

Album Update 10/6/08

So, it appears that recording an album with a number of different artists is more difficult than I had originally anticipated. If my schedule isn't hindering the process, someone else's is. Now, I don...
