mo' funkier than Shaft on my musical path...

About Me

As a DJ, my path began in the mid '90's with the rising popularity of both turntablism and electronic music. My curiousity was initially aroused by mixtapes that were circulated throughout my group of friends. Then it was buying the newest Ninja Tune or Shadow Records CD's. Of course, one must then see these artists live to soak it all in so attending parties was high on the personal agenda. Seeing artists like Cut Chemist, Shortkut, J.Smooth, Z-Trip & Radar blew my mind. Hearing the music off of a record and seeing sounds created by record and fader movement was so refreshing since what I was used to, in terms of live music at the time, was the live band thing. This eventually led to my first set of turntables and the rest is hist... You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !

Influences: Oh man...many to name, from the pioneering NYC DJ's of the mid '70's to mid '80's (Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambatta, etc...) to the west coast renaissance DJ's (in terms of turntablism)of the early '90's to the present(Cut Chemist, ISP(RIP), WFBeatJunkies, Space Travellers/Skratch Hamsters, Triple Threat, Shadow, etc...), to the turntablists that dont fit into those categories(Mr Dibbs, Kid Koala, Craze, A-Trak & the Allies, Faust & Shortee, X-Men(RIP), BombShelter Dj's(RIP?) (Z-Trip & Radar)etc...), to the jungle/DnB DJ's who broke the mold and incorporated skratching and juggling into their sets (R.A.W., Odi, Machete, CRS?, Kentaro, J.Smooth, Danny the Wildchild, Mr. Lord & a few others who do/did it right), to DJ's that don't fit into any of the above categories (Farina, Amon Tobin, Coldcut & the Ninja Tune Roster & many more that I cannot think of at the moment but when I do I'll come back and enter dem...) Aside from DJ's, gotta give credit to '60's rock, '70's rock, soul, funk, disco & electro, '80's hip hop, hair/glam metal, electro, '90's hip hop, metal, soul, funk.
Sounds Like: Jungle/DnB, Hip Hop, Dancehall/Reggae, '60's, '70's & current soul/funk, '80's pop, misc aural carnage and contagious dance fever
