Son of a Nun

About Me

Classically trained as a kid at St Micheal's Choir School and The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, I later diversified by attending the Humber College Music Program. This ultimately led to a gig with Juno-winner, Lawrence Gowan.
While touring Gowan’s multi-platinum selling album “Strange Animal”, we met another Juno award-winning, platinum-selling band, Honeymoon Suite. (A few years later, I joined Honeymoon Suite and remained with them for over a decade.)
Gowan was on the top of the charts at the time, playing gigs like Maple Leaf Gardens, Massey Hall, Kingswood Music Theatre and The Ontario Place Forum around my hometown, as well as other major concert venues across North America.
This included a memorable USA trip with Gowan, opening for Tears for Fears on their sold-out “Songs from the Big Chair” tour . With Gowan, I opened for these other superstars: Supertramp, Foreigner, Paul Young, The Kinks and Chris DeBurgh.
Following Gowan's “Great Dirty World” tour, I got an offer I couldn't refuse and joined Capitol/EMI recording artists, The Jitters. After touring their self-titled first album, with hit singles, “Last Of The Red Hot Fools” and “Closer Every Day”, The Jitters entered the studio with renowned artist/producer Jules Shear to record their sophomore release, “Louder than Words", including a co-write of my own contribution, “Now I’m Free”.
Touring followed, including three weeks in Great Britain, opening for Grammy superstars, Heart, culminating in three sold out shows at Wembley Arena in London, England.
I've had the good fortune this past year to play with Andy Kim. He wrote mega hits such as: Sugar Sugar, Rock Me Gently, Baby I Love You. As a member of Andy's band, I played with these guests at his annual Christmas fundraiser: Gowan (that was a nostalgic highlight for me and many others), Serena Ryder, Raine Maida, Sean Cullins, and Ron Sexsmith. The Bare Naked Ladies were also on the bill - Ed Robertson joined us onstage for Gowan's (You're a) Strange Animal.
Touring this summer (2008) with Matthew Good as a part of his new band, has been awesome! We recorded the March 29 show live at Massey Hall and it should be available on Itunes. Looking forward to more Good shows in the future...
