Frank & the Love Police

Since the age of 9, singer-songfighter Frank has been a huge Beatles fan. Soon afterwards, he discovered bands like The Kinks, The Who, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, The Jam/Paul Weller. Later on he became influenced by Green (whose songwriter Jeff Lescher ), The Posies, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Ken Stringfellow, Super Furry Animals. Frank played with several bands (Sunflower Suit, Ex-Friend, Electrified) in the past, performed at some nice festivals in Belgium (Zwemdokrock '93, Absolutely Free festival), did numerous club gigs and recorded some demo's. From 2000 until 2006 he put his guitar to rest and picked up another of his passions: road cycling. On a sunny day, he's out there climbing those steep hills and mountains in France, Italy and Spain along with some other mad cyclists! In the summer of 2006 he was approached by friend/musician Marco Zanetton from indie-band Superbox (check their my space!) to play a gig in Hasselt. For this occassion he wrote some new songs and resurfaced some older tunes. Marco asked fellow Superbox-member Kurt Backbeat and the talented Wouter Thijssen to join Frank. And they did! Frank and the Love Police was born. The results of their collaboration are now on this site. You can listen to very recent recordings. Please check them out if you like catchy singalong pop tunes that stick in your mind. You can also book Frank as a solo act, so don't hesitate!
