The band was formed in the summer of 2005. Hans and Julian knew each other from school and talked about forming a band. The idea was to form a band that was supposed to make some covers. Hans had already some skills with the guitar. Julian didn’t have any experiences as a vocalist. Still the desire to have a band was huge. Julian did know some people in the metal environment in Zurich and could connect Rafael, a brasilian guy who played the drums and who already had collected experiences with other metal bands in Brazil. A good friend of Hans, Paul, was at that time very excited about being part of the band.
Finding a studio where we could play at was the first challenge. We didn’t give a fuck where to play, we just wanted to play somewhere where the rent would not be to expensive. Julian knew this guy Alex, who promised the band to let them play in his studio in Dubendorf for a very cheap amount of money. So we started to make some noise and soon enough we found out that we didn’t have any recognizeable direction or skills in the art of creating metal, but we had one thing in excess: true desire to do so! Julian could not sing and when he tried to scream he would lose his voice in a matter of seconds. Hans kept complaining that he wanted to play the bass guitar instead of the e-guitar and Paul could not play more than the two first strophes of Master of Puppets. Rafael was just sitting there behind his drums thinking about going home and finally masturbate while having his fantasies that he was playing in another band. One day Rafael told us that he knew this guy who could play guitar. At that moment we hesitated a little bit, because we didn’t want to be to many people in the band but then we agreed (after all it would have been impossible that things could get any worst!). That’s how we got in touch with Leandro, another guy from Brazil. He had huge experience in the metal business and is talented as hell! He plays the guitar, the bass guitar and sings. We felt very impressed when we first saw him in action. We were really happy to see that he was so talented but at the same time we were not so sure if he would have the patience to play with us. The band became very fond of Leandro and he had the patience to play with us. That was the time when we created our first song: Rockeyes! We were finally attempting to become a metal band. No more covers were needed! We were able to create our own songs.
Paul decided to leave the band (or was kicked out of the band…we still don’t know, the fact is that he is gone) but the guitar skills of Leandro were more than enough to get the band moving.
Even though the band was making progress the first problems appeared. To start, the studio was being rented by other people and then Alex turned out to be a scam. He used to play in that studio but he got kicked out for not paying the rent. He managed to keep the key and was just keeping the money of the rent that we used to pay for himself. The real owners of that studio were some hooligans and they didn’t have any idea that we were playing in their studio with their equipment. As soon as they found that out we got kicked out and had nowhere to play at. We had to make pause of some months and we started to believe that the idea of the band was soon to be forgotten. Fortunately Julian found a room in Schmiede Wiedikon which had all what it was required for the band. Soon enough we started to play there and the hunger to create more than just a hobbie band grew more and more. Just when we were about to record our first single our former drummer Rafael decided to leave the band in an abrupt manner for reasons that only the most sensitive princesses of an enchanted forest could understand. With no drummer we had to accept the difficult task of finding a drummer that could have the right skills and the right personality to play with Rockeyes. After a long search we found Lukas, a young metalhead who just blew our heads off while playing his drums. There was no big discussion within the band. We immediately decided that this was our guy.
So here we are, with a new drummer and lots of ideas for the future and hungry to play in every damned place possible. Do to the entrance of Lukas, we had to redo some songs and that cost us some time but we thing positively and believe that the changes of the old songs with the beats of Lukas only brought more power to the old ones.
