What people are saying:
Black Hundreds. All I had really heard of these fellas was what is on their myspace, although I’ve seen them on tons of Lincoln bills. They sound a bit like a bunch of bands I love – BJM (prior to Anton having to live down DiG!), Spacemen 3, a little BRMC, a little Black Angels. If I was to pigeon-hole them into some lame standard genre, they’re trippy psych unlike just about anything else happening around here. Through some sort of miracle, ‘Imaginary Numbers’ landed in our inbox when we were on vacation. I’ve totally slacked on emails lately, but trust it’s something you should hear, just another band worth getting excited about.

The foursome produces something that goes beyond the standard pop-rock approach that many new bands seem to take. What they create has a hint of something past its golden phase, something slightly worn but innovative nonetheless. Their music is intentionally reminiscent of many of the great garage and psychedelic bands from the 1960s, making them a link on the chain of musical inspiration. But there is a fine line between influence and imitation, and the Black Hundreds seem to understand the limitations.
-Lincoln Journal-Star
Black Hundreds are more of a throwback to the acid-tinged 70s where the music was more open to interpretation each time out, performance is just as important as the music and people really get into the whole idea of being at a show. I heard a lot of similarities to the type of music Pink Floyd was making in 1972-73 and at times a little bit of "go fuck yourself" punk.
