About Me

I'm a musician. Wow, there aren't many of us up here. If you really want to know, I'm a drummer mainly, but I do bass, guitar, keys, and vocals for my own stuff, under the pseudonyms silveradio (modern rock-ish) and sleepie digitz (electronic stuff). Maybe I'll put some up here to hear. I work for a small record label in Hollywood and I play with a couple bands here also, Lamps (not the punk one) and Cardinal Family Singers. I'm originally from Raleigh, NC. That's the tip of the iceberg. I like to know what makes people tick.
I started playing drums officially when I was six. Played every type of music in school there was: orchestra (including all-county and all-state), wind ensemble, pep, marching, jazz, show choir, musicals. After high school I played in various bands, most notably The Connells, Johnny Quest, and The Veldt, but also with Michael Simone, Parklife and Jennyanykind. I've done session work with George Huntley, Taylor Roberts, Jacinda Haines and a few others. I've played a number of one off live shows with people like Kyler England, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, Patsy Moore, and Three Colors.
I also like some sports, mainly pro football and college basketball, Redskins and NCSU Wolfpack. Some people might think I'm a Carolina fan because lots of my friends went there or are Tarheels fans. Not so. At any rate, these alliances started when I was really small, so that should explain how irrational they are. I'm not glued to the television unless I just happen to have time to watch, even then I'd rather listen to music, go see a movie, etc. Other ideas might pass muster as well, you only have to suggest!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

people who are into art, music, film, etc. people who are looking to better themselves and the rest of the world. people who can laugh at themselves while maintaining a sense of who they are. i like people who are excitable and have depth of emotions and philosophy. if you think How to Get Ahead In Advertising is hilarious, Catherine Wheel is brilliant, love the absurdist's view of life (think The Office, Monty Python, Dave Chappelle, Lenny Bruce), and like British music (the aforementioned Catherine Wheel, Radiohead, Supergrass, Gang of Four, U2 - i know they're Irish,), old jazz (dizzy, bird, roach, brown, blakey, early miles and 'trane) and r&b (marvin, stevie, temptations, stax/volt), electronica that requires some sort of engagement of the brain as well as senses (deep house and progressive house, plus drum-n-bass, experimental, avant-pop, downtempo), then maybe we should get to know each other.
