Razorblade Picnic

About Me

Razorblade Picnic’s short time in existence on the UK music scene has been a tempestuous roller-coaster ride, which could rival the rock n roll controversy that plagues many a major league rock band and all with them barely getting off the starting blocks.
From going on stage with one member dressed as a giant mutilated teddy-bear, to being completely misrepresented and mistakenly booked at the Beatherder hippy festival (yet going down a storm!) to being immediately banned from their local radio station for an ‘offensive attitude’ then dragged off the air, there has been barely a dull moment so far for the boys (&girl) from the northern grimness of Yorkshire
Even the Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster couldn’t face the Picnic and pulled a gig, rather than have to follow the aggressive sounds of their fledgling support band from Bradford.
Now, after just a handful of gigs, the buzz is moving up to full speed, with audiences jumping up out of their chairs and being drawn towards the stage, to try to figure out who the heck is making all that noise.
One raucous demo CD in the bag and the band has been invited by indie label Voltage Records, to make a full-length album. Catch them on the road, in-between their visits to the studio.
Devolution Magazine said about the ‘Bubonic Plague Style’ demo: “Well written, angry, tongue in cheek and as infectious as the title suggests” Although perhaps the choicest of words printed was “unbalanced”.
If you go down to the woods today…..book yourselves a blood transfusion, the Razorblade Picnic's in town.
