The following is an excerpt from this articel: "Interview with Samira, Persian electronica artist"
We are in the 20th century and we live in an era in which technology has and is advancing tremendously. Music is the one common thing in all cultures that has the ability to bring people of all races, gender and cultures together. My inspiration and success lies within my audience and the gathered community, the connectedness and the joy of being present, dancing, united as one.

HISTORY OF PERSIA

Born in California, Samira was rasied in Tehran,Iran she was introduced to electronic music in her early adolescent years and became fascinated with the art and the medium. Once in America she received her first synth as a gift from her brother allowing her further insight and inspiration. Not long after this she was introduced to Ebbnflo, an inspiring artist/musician who mentored her in the basics of turntablism and loop-based sequencing and introduced her to the world of hardware and eventually software tools. She began to DJ at parties and small gatherings mixing middle eastern loops into House and Trance music. She soon lost interest in the decks and got more involved in the makings of electronic dance music. In May of 2004 she began to compose and work with her very own Roland MC-505 Groovebox and has since graduated to and MC-909 taking advantage of it's sampling capabilities. By 2006 she was able to perform at many events and became an active artist of an organization supporting Iranian female artists.
