Welcome to Texas Musicians 4 Medical Marijuana. I'm Tom Loud, First Chair and Director. I found (stole) the idea on an old web site for Musicians For Medical Marijuana. Formed during the push for 215 in California, it seems to have petered out to leave only a cool zombie. I was doing small shows for various causes, mostly cannabis reform. I put a call out for 4:20 songs and got a strong response at once. As my hero, Kinky Friedman, says, "Why the hell not?" Musicians, lyricists, spoken word poets, MCs and rappers, actors and comedians, writers, artists and fans. Please tell me what you think and please join me in posting and passing around. Check out YouSentIt.com, also.Seriously ill Texans are pleading for your support. The safest, most efficient medicine is more illegal than heroin. Why? When asked about it, 75% of Texans think that Medical Marijuana makes sense. I get the feeling that 75% of those people didn't know there was such a thing till they got asked about it. If I put the words Medical Marijuana on a marque it might help people think about it more often. If I get 75 people at a bar to write postcards to their State Legislature it might get a bill passed. It has happened. It's called the Irish Vote. These people need a good CD of locally produced 4:20 songs. I will contribute 5 songs plus a Caroline Wonderland cover she said I could use. Billy Bourbon is letting the project use his "Reefer Madness". That will be enough for Vol. 1 of the Cannabis Review. That will be available at the web sites of TexansForMedicalMarijuana.com, BayouCityCompassion.com and HoustonNorml.com for just a few bucks that will be spent on lobbying. Lemme know what you think.
