Steve Allen is my name and I'm still alive and well. Making music whenever possible. Guitar is my main instrument though I have been known to play some keys and bass as well. Even a little drums when I'm feeling brave. I was and still am a member of the band 20/20 which are best known for our songs "Yellow Pills" and "Nuclear Boy" which you might have even heard on the radio. We played live in Japan in October 2008 and it was fantastic. Music is a religion over there. Power Pop it is called though I think of it mainly as rock. I love that we got to be on American Bandstand back in the day. You can now discover the song "Yellow Pills" on the video game "Scarface". That's pretty weird.I've also been doing shows with a Nashville band called The Longplayers. We play classic rock albums start to finish and we've performed around 27 of these. People seem to love it. Members include me, Steve Allen-guitar, Bill Lloyd-guitar, Steve Ebe-drums, John Deaderick-keyboards and Garry Tallent-bass. Lately Garry has been touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and we've had Brad Jones and Dave Pomeroy playing bass. Even Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick has joined us lately.I also do work out of my home recording studio called Blue Planet Studio. I've produced and recorded many albums here mainly in the Americana field. Artists such as Lonesome Bob, Victor Mecyssne, and many others. As a guitar player I recorded and toured last year with Steve Forbert. We wrote a song together which will be on his new album to come out later this year. I think it's called "Who'll Watch The Sunset". Very nice. I also played on an album by Julian Dawson an artist from England. He recorded over here with Dan Penn producing at his amazing home studio.I'm also doing music tracks whenever possible for companies like Killer Tracks and Megatracks. I've had quite a few music moments in some tv shows. You might hear these on certain episodes on shows like Friends, Hogan Knows Best, Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, Ed, Jeff Corwin Experience, Fox Sports and many others.I released my first solo Steve Allen cd in 2001 and now in the blink of and eye I'm releasing my second one this spring. It's called "Thinline" after the fender telecaster model that I bought new back in the 70's. I'm really happy with the 10 songs on it.That's enough text for now. Later. You can buy my first solo cd "In + Out Of The Light" at cdbaby.com. Here's the link- http://cdbaby.com/cd/steveallenCheers,
Steve
