BIOGRAPHY
Since his professional acting debut at the age of 14 in Fred Schepisi's award-winning feature film “THE DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND”(1975 Winner of AFI Awards for Best Film, Actor, Director, Screenplay, Cinematography), Jeremy Kewley has gone on to enjoy a solid and diverse career in the entertainment industry.
As a dramatic actor on Australian television, Kewley has played leads in a number of television series, from Network Ten’s ill-fated “ARCADE” (1979-1980) through to the critically acclaimed 1994-1995 ABC-TV drama series “JANUS” (1995 Logie Award Winner for Best Drama Series and Best Actor) where he played the role of Crown Prosecutor Vic Manoulis(below left).

From 2000 to 2004 (above right) he played Detective Senior Sergeant Bryan Gray in the Nine Network’s undercover police series “STINGERS” (Best Drama Series - 2004 AFI Awards).
And from early 1997 he also played the semi-regular role of local Mt Thomas journalist Tony Timms in “BLUE HEELERS” (below right) until the series ended in 2006.
More recently he appeared as Frank Parry QC in the 2007 ABC-TV mini-series "BASTARD BOYS"; guest-starred in the popular Disney Channel kid's comedy series "AS THE BELL RINGS" (2008); and played the recurring roles of Ron Grealy in the ABC-TV comedy series "VERY SMALL BUSINESS" (2008) and Adam Gardiner in "McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS" (2007-2008) on the Nine Network (below left).

In 2009 he played the dramatic guest lead in 'The First Stone', a powerful and shocking episode of Channel Seven's "CITY HOMICIDE"; starred in the situation comedy series "WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THAT GUY?" on Foxtel's The Comedy Channel; filmed an amusing guest role (as a guy called Tom Cruise!) in a forthcoming episode of "BED OF ROSES II" for ABC-TV; and was cast as television network CEO Charles Kane in the pilot of the new Foxtel sit-com "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BETTER".
Over the last 35 years Kewley has starred in numerous other television series including "NEIGHBOURS", "BELLBIRD", "THE SULLIVANS" and "THE HENDERSON KIDS", and played guest leads in dozens of others including "PRISONER", "THE YOUNG DOCTORS", "THUNDERSTONE", "COP SHOP", "BACKBERNER", "PIG'S BREAKFAST", "THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER", "SEACHANGE", "THE SECRET LIFE OF US" and Hamish & Andy's comedy series "REAL STORIES" on Network Ten.
On stage, he recently appeared in the new Australian work "FRIDAY NIGHT, IN TOWN" (2009) by Kieran Carroll at La Mama's Carlton Courthouse Theatre in Melbourne, where his performance attracted outstanding reviews including: “the most compelling moment is a monologue performed with passion and sensitivity by Jeremy Kewley ... stunning" (Herald Sun) and "Kewley delivers the monolougue with impeccable emotion ... it stands as a shining example of one of the most beautifully delivered soliloquies in modern Melbourne theatre" (ArtsHub)
In April and May 2009 he starred as Frank McGee, the male lead in Tracy Harvey's original stage show "CALL GIRL THE MUSICAL" at Melbourne's Chapel Off Chapel Theatre. The aussietheatre.com review said "Kewley stamps Frank with an easy warmth and sings one of the best numbers in the show".
And in October 2009 he will star in "SHE'S MY BABY", a new Australian play by Adèle Shelley at Trades Hall, as part of the 2009 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
His Australian feature film credits range from 1970s classics like "MAD DOG MORGAN" (1976) with Dennis Hopper, and Bruce Beresford's "THE GETTING OF WISDOM" (1977); through to the unreleased "WALTZING MATILDA" (1999), Jimeoin's "THE CRAIC" (1998) (in which he played himself), and starring opposite Rachel Griffiths in "AMY" (1997).

More recently Kewley has starred in the US thriller
"DISAPPEARANCE" (left) set in New Mexico,
and "THE X-TEAM", an action adventure for Touchstone Pictures shot in the magnificent New Zealand Alps.
In August and September 2009 he shot the motion picture "FRANK & JERRY" playing the lead role of US film producer Jerry Goldman (to be released in 2010).
One of only a handful of television ‘audience warm-up comedians’ working in Australia, Kewley has been a vital part of dozens of classic shows from "YOUNG TALENT TIME", "WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE" and "CANDID CAMERA ON AUSTRALIA" to "AUSTRALIA’S BRAINIEST KID", "NATIONAL BINGO NIGHT", "DIFFERENCE OF OPINION", "1 VS 100" and "TEMPTATION".
He has been the 'warm-up' comedian for the AFL version of "THE FOOTY SHOW" since it began back in 1994, and as well as the weekly studio-based shows produced out of GTV 9 in Melbourne, he has also been part of all "THE FOOTY SHOW" broadcasts live from Perth, Hobart, Adelaide and Sydney; the annual "Grand Final" specials in front of 13,000 people at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena; the high-rating shows broadcast live from the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, in London in 2001 and 2005; and "THE FOOTY SHOW WORLD CUP SPECTACULAR", broadcast live from the classic Prinz Regent Theatre in Munich, Germany, in 2006.

He continues to entertain the audiences at "THE FOOTY SHOW" in 2009, the show’s 16th year on air. He also acts as the Master of Ceremonies at big television events like the annual "GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL CONCERT" and the "AFI AWARDS".
As a comic performer, Kewley performed live comedy every week between 1984 and 2006 at some of Melbourne's leading Theatre Restaurants, creating a huge range of comic characters.
Most recently he spent 10 years at "HUNCHBAX THEATRE RESTAURANT" in Richmond, performing in shows which he also wrote and directed, the last one, "GOOD WILL HUMPING", in 2006.

Previous shows he has written, directed and performed in at Hunchbax include "FORREST HUMP", "BRAVEHUMP", "RAIDERS OF THE LOST HUMP", "DUDE, WHERE’S MY HUMP?", "THE HUMP WHO SHAGGED ME", "CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN HUMPY", "THE FULL HUMPY" and "HUMP-ERECTOMY".
Kewley appeared in the 1990s Seven Network situation comedy series "BLIGH" and "WEDLOCKED"; for ABC-TV he was a regular performer on "THE GERRY CONNOLLY SHOW" sketch comedy series; played one of the leads in the ABC-TV 1996 sit-com pilot "DARLING!" and guest starred in the very popular 'Game Show God' episode of "THE ADVENTURES OF LANO AND WOODLEY" as the Game Show Host (below left).

He has been the host of pilot episodes of a number of game shows including "PUNCHLINES" for the Seven Network, "RUN FOR THE MONEY" for Network Ten (above right), and "PRO-AM QUIZ" for the Nine Network.

Kewley is in-demand as an MC and Host for a range of corporate events, trivia nights and charity fundraisers.
And from 2002 to 2008 he hosted a number of the annual SHOOTOUT FILM FESTIVALS in locations as diverse as Toowoomba (QLD), Newcastle (NSW) and Geelong (VIC) (left) .
Kewley has hosted his own radio show, performed in childrens theatre and pantomime and, way back in 1981 at the age of 21, he even spent a year as the Entertainment Officer and Cruise Director on board P&O's "FAIRSTAR".
As voice artist, he has performed hundreds of radio and television voice-overs, documentary narrations, corporate reads, and talking books.
Kewley is also a noted writer and producer and has produced music videos, corporate training films and over 200 television commercials.
In 2000 he produced “FUNNY BY GEORGE: THE GEORGE WALLACE STORY” for ABC-TV, a one hour documentary that detailed the life and times of GEORGE WALLACE - Australia's great vaudeville performer and first comedy "movie star", released on VHS and DVD through Roadshow.

In 2001 he co-wrote and produced “YOUNG TALENT TIME TELLS ALL” - which went on to become one of the highest rating Network Ten programs of the year - as well as the top selling 2003 Universal Pictures DVD release of “YOUNG TALENT TIME: THE COLLECTION”.
He is currently producing “YOUNG TALENT TIME: THE HITS” for release on DVD in 2010.
