Simpsons all the way (the older episodes, the newer ones suck ass), Family Guy, and Friends (again, older ones). Other then that, I like the History Channel when its not doing the history of bathroom technology and paint and all that other bull, and History Channel International because I am of course a nerd.
Any books by Chaim Potok, he is my all time favorite author. He wrote such books as In The Beginning, The Chosen, The Promise, Davinas Heart, My Name is Asher Lev, etc. Uhh, nerdy history books again, Huckleberry Finn, GOOSEBUMPS!, Holy Bible (parts I can understand), and The Great Gatsby.
