About Me

I've been playing guitar for 32 years, or 22, or 14, or 5 depending on what constitutes playing, and which time I had to learn. I cut a finger severely and had to relearn to play without a pick; now it works again, and so off we go.
I teach lessons for beginning and intermediate students age 10 and up. Younger than that, you should be taking Suzuki lessons from Billy Switzer. More advanced, I will tell you my secrets but I will charge an unreasonable amount.
I am always playing with two or three somewhat regular bands, but also always open to new projects. Currently I'm playing with Will Beaty and the Hot Damn Blues Band, and killerHz, which contains three former member of 33 1/3, but kicks a lot more ass, and nobody wears a fur coat on stage.
On the occasion that I complete the writing of a song, it is good, and that is the original reason for the existence of this page. But until I have satisfactory recordings of these, I'm going to put up some examples of my work in hopes of finding more studio and pick up gigs, because I love a good challenge and my style is such that I can make it fit anybody's sound, while still sounding like my genreless self.
Since it is late, and the recordings aren't going up tonight, I'll try to offer something in the way of description. I'm one of the rare metalheads that discovered the blues and got it right. I'm into Freddie King, Johnny Winter, Skunk Baxter, Mark Knopfler, Albert Lee, Jake E. Lee, Warren DiMartini, Vito Bratta, Dave Navarro, Slash, and George Lynch, who once said the following to me, then paraphrased it in blue Sharpie on the back of my old lady's headstock:
"It's all blues anyway, just masquerading as rock and roll."
