A blend of country, folk, blues and roots styles, band members share diverse musical tastes ranging from Bob Dylan to the Beatles and from old time country/blues artists, through to sweet soul sounds.A RUSTED gig is at home in small, medium and large venues and performances varied to cater to the venue and audience alike.
The seed for RUSTED was sown in 2004 when singer/songwriters Matt Walsh (Port Fairy Folk Festival, PBS - Live to air) and Andrew Pearce combined to form Reginald James Project. Together they played across the Melbourne pub scene with acts such as Jack Howard (ex H & C) and Sally Dastey (ex Tiddas).
RUSTED emerged during 2006 with the inclusion of Brett Reilly (drums) and Mark Hassell (bass) and 2007 saw them playing gigs at The Rob Roy, The Empress, IDGAFF and The Old Bar to name a few.
Rounding off the 2007 year in the studio, RUSTED recorded an albums length of material and released a self titled 4 track demo.
..........from Brian Nankervis, SBS 'ROCKWIZ' Producer/Scorer.........
"RUSTED have a sound that is completely unique.
Their single HIJACK THE SUN may well be my Summer favourite"
Again they hit the Melbourne pub scene and continue to impress throughout 2008.
