JUDAH LYON

About Me

As it is written, Judah the Lion is said to represent the 2nd coming of the Messiah. Coming to fruition, the effluence lyrics of Judah Lyon mixed with a head bobbin’ track, reiterates’ the consciousness of the self chosen name. Judah Lyon (stemming from a tattoo received during active duty) birth name Ayinde Cumberland, is a native of Yonkers, New York. Now residing in Frederick, Maryland Cumberland has a style so unique it classifies him in a new genre of music, neo-hip hop. His sound can be compared to Slum Village, Common, Kanye, Bilal, and The Roots. Cumberland began rapping approximately 10 years ago. His first work was recorded February 2000; a compilation CD composed with 26th FSB (3rd infantry division, Fort Stewart, GA) soldiers titled, My City, before being stationed in Bosnia. Cumberland believes “you can have anything in life; if you can give up the idea of saying it can’t be yours.” His pursuit is to share his life experiences with his audience by dropping knowledge which needs to be heard. Some of Lyon’s thought provoking lyrics can also be found through his most recent work “Good Time”, “Love Song”, “BobbySox”, written and produced in the fall of 2007 and “Bless Me” released in May of 2007, in addition 72 songs recorded over the years. Judah Lyon’s past work consists of opening acts for Camouflage 2001- Club Platinum- Hinesville, GA Bobby Valentino 2005 – Club Long Shot in San Marcos, CA As well as recordings with Won G the Haiti Boy and various underground artists. Judah Lyon’s future goal for growth in the music industry is to become a songwriter for other musical artists as well as continue to make good music for the avid listener. Samplings of his artistic music can be found at www.myspace.com/judahlyon.I ALSO DO GRAPHIC ART. IF INTERESTED, DROP ME A LINE AND I GOT YOU! PEACE.
