first and foremost sleeping, travel, lindy hop and blues http://lindyandblues.com/, the search for quality music (although I've been lagging in this area for a while), the art of observation, the ability to be still in this ADD world, food, listening to people's stories.
Jeff Buckley, Ella Fitzgerald, Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, John Irving, the enlightened, people without agendas, those who see the glass half full (for the most part), dancers with soul, people who are smarter/funnier/ more talented than me.I'd like to seriously AVOID: loud talkers, know-it-alls, any sort of fundamentalist, those chicks who need constant reinforcement, pseudohipsters/faux fashionistas, bad vibes, and men with asian fetishes :shivers:
My go-to top 3: Fiona Apple, Spoon, Rufus Wainright. I've gotta say I have indie tendancies... BUT music rooted in funk and soul definitely has a place in my heart. I enjoy lindy hopping to everything from hot jazz to downtempo house, just depends on the lead's musicality and my mood.
Real Genius, Dogfight, Roman Holiday, Gigi, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Party Monster, The Philadelphia Story, The Usual Suspects, Leon, Arsenic and Old Lace, Before Sunrise/Sunset, Swingers, Serenity
Firefly is a newly found gem. It's a space western... 'nough said. "Project Runway" really floats my boat. "Freaks and Geeks" is quality. Oh, and gotta love "Queer as Folk" the earlier seasons and "Coupling" (BBC version) the seasons w/ Jeff. The travel channel is now a favorite and I really miss TCM.
