About Me
It began from an early age by learning the guitar and piano, which ignited Ste’s passion for music. Many hours and late nights where spent learning and practising his craft when he should have been doing his homework. Ste got his first set of decks at the age of 13 and there was no looking back. Every weekend he would go and spend all his pocket money on the latest vinyl releases, by doing this he met DJ Ian Redman from Ultrabeat who at the time worked in record shops in Liverpool.
In 2001 Ste decided he didn’t just want to play the music he wanted to create it. From this he locked himself away for a few months grasping the knowledge of music production. Now good friends Dizzy Deejays & CJ Constable helped him and gave him advise on what to do. Ste then showed Ian Redman & Alex Jones (Pleasure Rooms DJ) who liked the tracks and began to play them in their DJ sets.
Ste began to get remix work for BCD Records which at the time was the biggest dance label in the region. From this he got contacted by Daz Sampson (Bus Stop, Uniting Nations) and was asked to remix “Uniting Nations – Out of Touch†which went on to be one of the biggest songs of 2004. This remix was straight away on a Ministry of Sound CD Compilation “MOS No1 Hard Houseâ€.
The follow up single “You & Me†was also remixed by Ste and again featured on another Ministry of Sound Compilation “Clubbers Guide to Summer 05â€.
With appearing on main stream dance compilations more remix work followed and for Boss Records. The artist Dario G next single at the time “Made of Stone†was to be released and the label wanted harder dance mixes to be done. This remix managed to get on Ministry of Sounds “Big Tunes 3†CD Compilation.
Paul Spencer “Dario G†liked the remix of “Made of Stone†and asked Ste to remix his next single “Ring of Fire†which is a huge football terrace anthem. Ste jumped at the chance, and the track was released on Feverpitch Records (EMI) who liked the mix that they asked Ste to remix the new “Public Domain†single which was a cover of the massive Donna Summer track “I Feel Love†the mix was also licensed in Italy for release.
Ste also is a big fan of the UK Hardcore scene and got in contact with Mark Breeze of “Styles & Breeze†who liked his remix of “I Will Be†and compiled it on their new CD. “Clubland Hardcore X-Treme 2†which was released and achieved the Number 1 spot in the compilation chart in the UK. The remix was also featured on the TV advert for the compilation.
A new group was formed “illusion†which consisted of Jorg Schmid and Stevie B. Their first track which they wrote and produced “Be with you tonight†was released on promotional vinyl in the UK and was licensed in Japan to Quake Records and also Contrasena in Spain. It has appeared on CD Compilations in both countries up to now including “Quake Best of Trance 14â€.
Ste is currently focusing on writing his own material at the moment as well as DJ’ing up and down the UK and abroad.
