Daddry Shield was born of four guys all wanting to do something a bit different musically... all musicians in the band have varying backgrounds and influences and those elements become prominent in the music that we write. From Phil's Prog/rock influences, to Celt's rock, to Brent's metal, to Root's soul influences... listen closely enough and you'll hear it all.The name... yes, the name: Daddry Shield is a village in the northwest of England not too far south of Scotland. Guitarist/vocalist Root was there last summer visiting his daughter who lives 15 minutes from Daddry Shield in a neighboring village called Wolsingham. Root was taken with the name and because it's so near his daughter, it has dual meaning for him. The other band members agreed that the name was pretty cool and unique and soon thereafter the band name was decided on.Music is forthcoming as we tighten up and polish our songs/set. We should be out and about playing very soon. Watch for us... we're just around the corner!
