At the age of 12, my brother Gabe showed me how to play the guitar so that he would have someone to play with. I picked it up pretty quick and then he handed me a bass. I played bass for several years and we had many bands throughtout those years.
It wasn't until I got to be 15 that I really started writting music and coming up with lyrics. This is when I knew that I had to break away from playing the bass and start focusing on playing rhythm guitar. When I did this Gabe started focusing on lead guitar.
A severe heartbreak I encountered at the age of 17 got my blood pressure really high. As it turned out, the girl I had been so in love with, also loved several other people. Go figure. She fucked a lot of people. Anyway, I thank her for it because it encouraged me to write several songs and really search for the meaning of happiness. Thanks for the good time Melanie!
"Carry Me Home"
I tell you all of this because it was the main driving force behind most of my music from the early days. It is what created who I am today. Every single thing that I have written about usually stems back, in some form, to that ultimate betrayal I felt so many years ago. While I wish I could forget all of it, I sometimes would not trade the experience for the world. By being in the depths of depression that I was, I was able to find myself. I found out who I was and who I wanted to be.
There were a lot of people that helped me along the way and I will always remember them. I love all of you with my whole heart. Several different bandmates, women, and even kids have helped inspire my music for so many years. I am grateful.
The band Revel the Masses was created by myself and my brother Gabe. We have been through a lot together and he will always be a major influence in my life. A compilation of memories is what we are. We see something and we write about it. We are not always sad and depressed, but we are not afraid to tell it like it is when we are. We are not afraid to cry when we are hurt. We are not afraid of being human.
So many different people played with us through the years. As any bandmember knows, there are a lot of fake people out there. We have had more than our share of these and we have pretty much decided that people in general are just a bunch of fucking users. Just about all of the band members that we had over the years have ended up being a bunch of bitches who could care less about supporting the band. They just wanted the drugs or the pussy. They just wanted to say that they were in a band. They just wanted to get a free ride off of people. they were assholes.
I am real. I answer people truthfully. I tell people what I honestly think. I am trusting. I answer my messages. I tell people thank you. I have manners. I have respect. I love people unconditionally. I love music. I am appreciative of what I have. I am a hard worker. I am a Christian. I am a means to an end. I am emotional. I am a good person. I am all for freedom of expression. I am on a quest to tell as many people in the world that I can that there is someone out there that feels like they do. I am not afraid to be myself. I am Revel the Masses...
