About Me

Began playing rhythm guitar and writing with Mike & The Throbs in 1960. Name change to Mike & The Ravens in 1962 before signing to Empire Records in Plattsburgh, NY. Spent the summer of '62 playing at the legendary Rollerland. Wrote song called "(Everybody's Goin' To) Rollerland!" in between sets. Song subsequently recorded by Empire recording artists, "Wild" Bill Kennedy & The Twiliters in 1964. The song is now a staple of the garage underground with Untamed Youth and The Volcanics recording it. Throughout the remainder of the '60s, Blodgett recorded 45s for RCA Victor, Compass Records and Decca. Mike & The Ravens catalog plus Blodgett solo work is now available on Dionysus Records' "Nevermore: Plattsburgh '62 & Beyond." For the full story, read "Ugly Things," which is available at www.ugly-things.com.
With the reformation of Mike & The Ravens in 2007, Blodgett has spread his wings once again. Currently writing songs for Salla Day as well as playing guitar in her Finnish act, Them Bird Things.
