Son of two teachers, musicians, songwriters, and meditators, nursed on on soul, blues, and jazz, then raised on hiphop crews such as the Native Tongues, Heiroglyphics and Quannum Collective, Solomon’s early years prepared him well for a career as an mc. Though primarily an mc and poet, Solomon is also fluent on production, guitar, and brings his knowledge of music to the mic, and is known for his spontaneous improv, high energy live performance, powerful punch lines and meaningful lyrics. Solomon has been a leading voice for a number of hiphop reggae and funk groups in his hometown Bloomington IN including Baraka, Parrhesia, the Flat Five and now a new face on the New Orleans scene, Solomon is out to bring it fresh with depth.
