Edward L. Schumacher, age 81, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at his residence. Born November 17, 1926 in Lockville Station, OH to the late John W. and Iris R. (Hamler) Schumacher. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and was retired street superintendent for the village of Canal Winchester. He was a member of the Lithopolis American Legion Post #677 and the VFW Post #15036. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Faye Schumacher in 2005, 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by children, Linda Schumacher, Thomas Schumacher, Michael Schumacher, Danny Counts, Vicki Wade, Curtis Schumacher; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Vernon, Harold and Larry Schumacher; sisters, Ruth Ann Tyree and Juanita Ringle; nieces and nephews. Friends may visit 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday.
