About Me

Mos’ def! A ZincFens! But who exactly is ZincFens?Born Sean Jerom Marshall, on April 3rd, in Portmore, St Catherine; ZincFens got into most of the troubles a young boy can in a street-tough place, like Gregory Park, Portmore.ZincFens grew up roaming the streets of Gregory Park, with his thugs for life, MC Nuffy and Ras Ghandi. The three were witnesses to many different things in their youth, one of which was music. ZincFens, like his friends, and a lot of youth, decided that music would be his career.A fan of dancehall music from a young age, ZincFens was exposed to a wide variety of music from an older cousin who happened to be aspiring musician himself. He began to focus, gave the game of trouble a break, and spent many days at Penthouse Studio, trying to get a bus’.As times were hard for many coming up, at age 11, ZincFens was uprooted to Montego Bay, St James, by his young mother of then, 3, to live with his grandmother. In Montego Bay, ZincFens, then known as Skilarchie, took a brief stint from his focus in music and started playing soccer, his other passion. Soon after, he linked with Lil Major, and Lil Mice, who at the time were aspiring deejays and his fire for the business reignited. Always a ready to show off his skills, he frequently appeared in many local talent shows and stage shows. As a positive and perseverant being, some of his performances might have failed to impress the talent and stage show audiences, but he never got deterred. At fifteen years old ZincFens moved back to Portmore, where he reconnected with the dancehall scene with his boys, MC Nuffy, Ras Ghandi, and Lil Wicked. (the latter two who, at that time, were working on their solo music careers)By the time ZincFens was 17, he was well on his way to pursuing his music career, but was given an often sought, opportunity to relocate to foreign. Miami-to be exact. Although he migrated to Miami, Florida, his focus remained on his music, and aspirations of becoming a dancehall artist. In Miami, ZincFens connected with South Florida producers and began on the hustle and grind to hone his skills. He soon realized that even with easier access to producers and studios, in Miami, it became even harder to break in the business, because you are now labeled a foreign artist. ZincFens spent many years focused on winning over his Miami and Jamaican communities.Today, ZincFens has written and voiced many tunes. His catalog includes Build Back, a hit on South Florida’s 1 reggae/dancehall radio station 95.9 fm WBIG, Step Out on the North Coast riddim, produced by House a Vibes, MC Nuffy and Ras Ghandi, long time friends. He has performed on a number of stage shows throughout the eastern United States and is looking forward to his career tomorrow.ZincFens recently signed on with Avatar Muzic/Big Spendas Records, out of South Florida, to produce a few singles. In the future expect to hear the ZincFens, most definitely on riddims from Renaissance’s Jazzy T, Black Chiney, Pay Day Records, to name a few.For more information on the new, but well seasoned artist, ZincFens, visit www.myspace.com/zncfens.
