About Me

My name's Kristin. I love things that aren't typically "cool" to do. I read a lot than most people on a daily basis. It consists of comics, mangas, horror titles, and some romance mushy stuff (but, you won't see Fabio on my covers...yuck). My boss says that readers are a minority in this country, which is a shame. I also like to play sports like volleyball and softball. I've been playing those two since junior high and I'm glad that I still enjoy it. In the mean time, I help my wonderful boyfriend coach his boy's volleyball team at Hilltop High School during the spring. I think coaching is an awesome experience and I'm learning so much about the game and about myself. :) All in all, I'm enjoying life right now and it can only get better from here. John's secretly rooting for me in the background so I know I have him there to keep me going.

My Interests

JOHN most of all!, my family, my friends, volleyball, softball, watching good animes, reading good mangas, reading some comics and some books, cosplaying, enjoying Japanese culture/fashion, singing in the shower or on long drives, having long night marathons of X-Files, listening to good music, foreign/independent films rented at Kensington Video, and interesting nick-nacks that flood my room (ie - all kinds of cute Japanese doodads).

I'd like to meet:

My grandpa, Jose Rizal, Gael Garcia Bernal, John Cusack, David Duchovny, Dave Chapelle, Ella Fitzgerald, Lea Salonga, Robert Pattinson, Stephenie Meyer...View All Friends | View Blog | View Pics | Add Comment

Music:

Ever since high school I can remember listening to a variety of different types of music (from classical, swing, jazz, ska...etc). Here's some examples: Charlotte Church (beautiful, angelic-like voice - but, her current albums just aren't good anymore), L'arc en Ciel, Hamasaki Ayumi, Fukada Kyoko, Gackt, Hyde, and many, many more. I'm not good with band names so it's hard to remember which ones I like the most... =(

Movies:

I've seen a wide variety of movies ranging from children's classics to different foreign films. There's so many to choose from...I'll update this later! Gomen!

Television:

Cartoon Network is the best! But, besides cartoons, I enjoy watching Family Guy, The Office, House, X-Files, Hell's Kitchen, American Idol, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians (a guilty pleasure of mine).

Books:

I love just about all the Japanese manga books I own (which is A LOT). Here are some titles that I'm currently reading (a listing of them...but, not all): Goong or Gung, 100% Perfect Girl, The Devil Does Exist, Life, Guru Guru Pon-Chan, Trinity Blood, Madtown Hospital, Beauty Pop, Can't Lose You, Chibi Vampire, Nosatsu Junkie, Vampire Knight, Neon Genesis Evagelion (and NGE - Angelic Days), Bleach, Princess Resurrection, Faeries Landing, Platinum Garden, Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, and Sgt. Frog. I used to read most Stephen King books but, I'd get halfway done and stop...:( But, if you enjoy his books, check out his son's work (Joe Hill) like Heart Shape Box or 20th Century Ghosts (I still need to read this one). He also writes a comic book called Locke & Key that I have been faithfully promoting at my work - great horror read. I've read "I Am Legend" which I think was by Richard Matherson!. I've also read a few young adult titles like the "Twilight" series (I can tell you this has been the best vampire book I've read in a long time....it'll hook you right in!), "Crank", and "Impulse". They're great reads and I highly recommend them. I also like some comic books too (Y-the Last Man, Walking Dead, Fables, Liberty Meadows, Chronicles of Wormwood, The Boys, The Pro, Locke & Key, and Blue Monday (or any Chynna Clugston comic book). Garth Ennis is a genius and everyone should read his comics because he's brilliant. :)

Heroes:

My parents and my sisters.

It has been a while since I've been on this but, to be honest, I've been lazy with my responses back to people.  Sorry for my laziness. I've rekindled my passion for volleyball by playing again a...

I hate waking up at random times....

I'm on a mini vacation with John in San Francisco. I decided that I'd take advantage of this by sleeping in and just being a typical lazy gal...but, no, my natural clock just had to wake me up at 5:30...

People who use signs at Comic/Anime Conventions...

I swear if I see another person with a damn sign saying "Free hugs/kisses" I'd seriously give them a big kick in the ass/nads. It's very sad seeing these people (who, btw, aren't at all attractive) tr...
