"The purpose of life is to have a life of purpose." (I didn't write this quote but this is how I feel). Those of you that know me, know that we live in a world that does not care about this at all. You can get a good idea of who I am by reading the quote next to my main pic and the above one. I am Daniel "Jani" Downer but most of friends simply call me "Jani". In all seriousness, about me....I honestly do not know where to begin, my life has been a story. and with every new page comes a new experience, some good, some bad, but ultimately the greatest lesson I have learned is to be happy. Happy in not only the blessings that I am blessed with everyday seen and unseen, but those trials that cause my character to be tested..Thank God...I currently hold a A.A. in Business Marketing and Finance with a minor Spanish from Calhoun Community College of Huntsville.AL It is my dream to open my very own non-profit organization that focuses on health disparities affecting the inner-city minority and homeless population.I currently work for The Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless, a non-profit homeless shelter and organization that provides advocacy and services to the indigent of Atlanta. I am a faithful member of the New Beginnings Full Gospel Church of Decatur,GA. I am also a former member of Aeolians, Alabama A&M Gospel Choir, Dynamic Praise, Madison Mission Mass Choir, and The Triple M Conference Mass Choir. My current project is laying the "foundation" for my non-profit organization, A Life of Purpose; designed to empower and mentor African-American males in the Atlanta Metro area. Other projects have included contributing my vocals and sharing the stage with artists such as Alabama A&M Gospel Choir, Dynamice Praise, Jamel Strong, Michael Brooks & Royal Priesthood, Reed's Temple Choir, UAB Gospel Choir, Youth for Christ and Walt Whitman/Soul Children of Chicago and Onitsha The ChurchGirl. I am quirky at times, mature, independent, selfless, intelligent, enjoy taking pictures and stylish if I can say so myself..LoL....People throughout my life have tried to make me feel less of a person, yet the Lord and the support of family and friends has carried me to stem the tide of negativity I endure so much.
