The Ghetto Monks

About Me

Formed in 1995 from the train yards and warehouses of Seattle's industrial district, The Ghetto Monks had many successes:
= "High Steppin", their first release sold more copies than any other local independent release of 1998.
= Voted best band in KISW's Battle Of The Bands (1999)
= Voted best band of Lake City Pioneer Days Battle of the bands (2000)
= The Monks had been chosen as the official house band of AM 950 KJR Sports Radio's "Groz with Gas" show. A position held until the end of 2006. Monk music can still be heard from 3-5pm weekdays on the show.
The Monks disbanded in early 2002.
