Although his name suggests ‘the norm’, this MC is far more cryptic and unique than your everyday rapper. Hailing from the city of Adelaide, a city that has a deep history in Hiphop culture, Realizm explores the trials and tribulations of everyday life; only he looks at it through the twisted left hand side of the brain - The obscure. The esoteric. The abstruse. Aside from local mixtapes, his debut appearance came on the critically praised “Battlehoggs Official Mixtape Volume 1†which was distributed not only among Hiphop diehards but also in chain stores throughout Australia. This release saw him rhyme next to Evolve and K21 on a light hearted ode to mind altering substances. This release also featured Australias biggest heavyweights such as The Hilltop Hoods, The Funkoars, Vents, Mortar, The Herd and UK legend Braintax. Next came a slew of guest appearances with people from Australia and abroad including:
Sapient of the Sandpeople (Portland, US)
Critical Madness (Orlando, US)
Castro The Savage (Sacramento, US)
Relative Stigmata (Bogota, Colombia)
K21 (Adelaide, Australia)
Menacide (Detroit, US)
Mars (Pittsburg, US)
Evolve (Adelaide, Australia)
PMC (Vienna, Austria)
Prime (Adelaide, Australia)
Chapel and Diabolical (Ontario, Canada).
Throughout this whole time Realizm has been steadily crafting tracks built on a steady foundation of honesty, wordplay and society’s obsession with the darker side of the iris. Enter the Scribe of the Occult; a collection of works that have remained unreleased are about to be unleashed. A disc jam packed full of violence, drug abuse, tales of disease and torment; basically everything that modern day society has used to replace the white picket fence. In the meantime Realizm has perfomed live with acts such as C Rayz Walz, Brad Strut, Drapht, the Funkoars, Clandestein and many more, so keep your eyes on the street press for upcoming appearances.
