I used to be a singer/songwriter, but that got boring. So I became a songwriter/producer... but that still felt kind of constricting. I wanted more than just a piece in the puzzle, a song on an album, an album among thousands released in a year... who even cares about "albums" anymore? I wanted to think about the "big picture," you know??? So I've decided to become a mogul. How do you become a mogul? I've tried to ask other moguls, but I don't know any. I'm not even sure what the exact job description is, but I have a company with my non-sexual life partner, Kay, that does everything from independant A&R to film and TV development, and that feels like a good start... The company is called Art Is War - which is a decidedly serious name - particularly for such a goof ball as myself... But art IS a war, if you think about it. At least, it should be something you care about enough to fight for. And I do - for myself, and now for the artists and shows we represent.I still write songs and sing on people's records and I still have a band called the Dilettantes that's on hiatus... But I also have a son called Jackson who's taking up more time than I knew I had. So the rest is to be continued...
