Like Sprint PCS, their network operates only in the PCS band (1900 MHz), and have no analog network (although T-Mobile does offer extensive GSM 850 roaming.) T-Mobile offers EDGE high-speed data over most of their network. Germany's Deutsche Telekom AG bought VoiceStream in June 2001 and re-branded it T-Mobile USA in the 2nd half of 2002. T-Mobile is Deutsche Telekom's global wireless brand. T-Mobile also offers the cheapest rate plans by far out of any national carrier.
