About Me

Anthony J. DiCapua Jr. [ A CHEMICAL LOVE STORY ] "Orbitals are for mathematicians, organic chemistry if for poeple who like to cook"-A. Shulgin. I am 30 and attending UCSC working on my PhD in organic chemistry. I am going to be looking at small molecules that have biological activity in the hopes of discovering new drugs. The new small molecule screening facility will enable us to screen thousands of chemical species per day. Once biological activity has been established then semi-synthesis is undertaken to try and augment activity while attenuating toxicity. I am also interested in quantum theory, string theory, waves, and lasers, especially their application in controlling matter and chemical reactions, philosophy(eclectic)(empirical), mathematics- as our only source of absolute truth and punk, hardcore, grind, indie rock, breakcore, digital grindcore, experimental, industrial, metalcore, Brutal diseased noise, harsh chainsaw jungle/dub soundwrecks, high velocity drum shrapnel, violent cut-up broken beat/grind and overdriven death polka collapse. Every kind of horrible noise and distorted/tortured/spastic music possible.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

JOSEF MARIA HOENE WRONSKI(1778-1853) Born in Poland and educated in Germany. More a philosopher than a mathematician, he believed that absolute truth could be attained through mathematics. Wronski's most note worthy contribution to mathematics was the use of a matrix determinate to prove linear independance for differential equations. Always an eccentric, he eventually went insane.----------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------F. WOHLER(1835) "Organic chemistry nowadays almost drives me mad. To me it appears like a primeval tropical forest full of the most remarkable things, a dreadful endless jungle into which one does not dare enter, for there seems to be no way out."------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------Here is somthing most interesting I found regarding the Fibonacci sequence, as inticated by the tattoo on my left forearm, the convergent Fibonacci number is (1+v5)/2, this has been termed the "Divine ratio" or the "Golden ratio". The ancient greeks based their art on 1:(1+v5)/2 , they believed that it produced the most beautiful proportions. Many people also beleive that Fibonacci numbers are the fingerprint of God, I appeal to iconoclastic individuals on this matter. The sequences are disseminated throughout nature and have engendered much thought on my part. This type of mathematics should not seem esoteric or convoluted to anyone, my implication of something mystic serves only to bolster personal ecletic philosophies. Anyhow, here again we see this number. The golden ratio, f = (1+v5)/2 plays an important role in regular pentagrams. Each intersection of edges sections the edges in golden ratio: the ratio of the length of the edge to the longer segment is f, as is the length of the longer segment to the shorter. Also, the ratio of the length of the shorter segment to the segment bounded by the 2 intersecting edges (a side of the pentagon in the pentagram's center) is f. AMAZING! -by Tony DiCapua Jr.--------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------"What if, for just one day, we could both be pigeons? Sometimes one moment in time can take on such an important significance that it becomes and endless world unto itself and everything outside of that moment, past and future spots in time, become the folklore of the world. What if we could both fly over the Kiralyi Palota and see it just as these pigeons do? A beatiful culture of dissimiar angles as donkey angels above this city. But even in the world of the infinite moment, we cannot choose the feather of our bird and the pigeon may long to be the goose, the donkey the pigeon and so on. Furthermore as our world blossoms out of this single tick in time, it is for one pigeon a swirling romantic flood of euphoric possiblity and fascination, for the other an inferior life of shitting on everyone from the sky, awkward and ashamed, wrecthed nuisance they are painted as by those they shit on. Ultimately, as quickly as our world blossoms, our world is discordant, and our pigeons are wounded, and as our world dies, we die, and we are extinct. If only we could kill ourselves over and over until we get it right. So just as an entire genre of music can be born out of one sped up ten second breakbeat, a full symphony orchestra can come together in harmonic unison to create that perfect moment in time, thus every moment can give birth to an entirely new world, and every world can house the perfect moment, and just as that breakbeat may be broken beyond any recognition, that orchestra may combine to bring forth a dissonant barrage of colossal sorrow, AND SO THE MOMENT DISINTEGRATES IT'S WORLD AND THAT WORLD SUFFOCATES THE MOMENT UNDER IT'S COLLAPSE"-Aaron Funk
