Las Madrinas are a group of independent, highly motivated, minority women. Founded by Mimi Pascual, Evie Rodriguez, & Ginger Vizcaino, Las Madrinas, LTD, have created a company that provides the following services: Consulting, Event Planning, Promotions, Production, Fashion & Interior Design and Catering.Las Madrinas, LTD have provided their professional services and creativity to companies and individuals such as Assemblyman Adriano Espaillat, District 72, Nurys De Oleo, Exec. Director of Northern Manhattan Coalition for Economic Development, Dorothy Randolph- CEO of S.E.RG.(Career Enhancement), Calixto Chinchilla- New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF),Daymond John- CEO FUBU, Never Broke Clothing Co., Ollie Levy-Oxenfre Productions/ A Writer of “Sex and the City” and author of “QUICKIES”, Malik Levy- Director of Writer/Publisher Relations at BMI, Lenny Green- Radio Personality/Host of “Kissing After Dark” on 98.7 Kiss FM, Sergio M. Castilla- Writer/Director, Dame Grease- Producer & CEO of Vacant Lot Records, The NY General Mysonne- Rapper/Model/Actor, Mike Cherry- one of the Owners/Designer of Damani DADA and Cezer clothing, Tony Pascual a/k/a Pachuli- Comedian/Actor (“Sanky Panky”), Antonio Pierce of the NY Giants, Gano Grills- Actor/Artist, Sean Blakemore- Actor/Model, Smokey- Comedian/Actor, JMil y Amperaje- Reggeaton Artist and SNX Entertainment. They are currently working with several other political entities, writers, artist and companies on the rise.For the Elections of 2006, Las Madrinas promoted and played an active role in the elections by dramatically increasing the number of minority voters in Washington Heights. They also recruited minorities and women for the FDNY together with S.E.R.G and The Northern Bronx Redevelopment Corporation in collaboration with John Jay College. Together with Nurys De Oleo, Exec. Director and Northern Manhattan Coalition for Economic Development, they are currently programming the Summer, 2007 festivities for Washington Heights. Most recently Las Madrinas were subcontracted by Daymond John of FUBU to work productions on the Fat Joe "Clap and Revolve" video shoot. They plan, promote, cater and host Mike Cherry’s Annual BBQ. They organized The NY General Mysonne's “Welcome Home and 1st Annual BBQ Bash” for which the well known Graffiti Artist Gano Grills created a one of a kind original work of art. Summer, 2006 they participated in the 24th Annual Dominican Day Parade & Festivals alongside SNX Entertainment and various Reggeaton artists, hosting their 1st Annual Dominican Day Parade After Party with performances by comedians Tony Pascual a/k/a Pachuli and Smokey, and musical performances by SNX, Snatch, Fuego Sanchez, Yaro and Inti, along with several other performers on the up and coming. During the holidays, Las Madrinas volunteer and conduct arts and craft literacy workshops where children enjoy learning to combine arts and crafts with literature.April of 2007, Mimi Pascual of Las Madrinas, premiered as the narrative vivacious “Dolores” in the movie “Take the Bridge,” directed by Sergio M. Castilla which successfully competed in the Tribeca Film Festival 2007, with SOLD OUT shows on all 4 nights. Las Madrinas worked on productions, did promotions and assisted with the development of the soundtrack.Take the Bridge competed and won the “Heineken Award” in HBO’s New York International Latino Film Festival 2007.*****LM CATERING ***** LM CATERING*****
Las Madrinas created an excusite Dominican & Latin cuisine presently known as LM CATERING. The food is seasoned with their own signature “sofrito” which enhances the decadent flavor of their cuisine. Las Madrinas, LTD, are currently developing a non-for- profit grass root oriented organization, Las Madrinas Care. Their primary mission will be to decline the growing number of single minority teenage mothers throughout Northern Manhattan, by providing advocacy services and a safe haven which will ultimately instruct and encourage independence, women empowerment, positivity and productivity in these young ladies lives.Las Madrinas Care is a non-for-profit organization in develpoment. Las MadRinas Care will nourish, enlighten and uplift young minority women from the overbearing epidemic of Teenage Pregnancy, Obesity, Postpartum Depression, Domestic Violence and STD/HIV awareness. These young women will be referred to as "Ahijadas" the Latin term for God-daughters. Las Madrinas Care will be a non-for- profit grass root oriented organization whose primary mission will be to decline the growing number of single minority teenage mothers throughout their communities. Mimi Pascual, Evie Rodriguez & Ginger Vizcaino are single mothers who have joined with several political organizations including Northern Manhattan Coalition for Economic Development to bring back to the community the hunger for knowledge, productivity and self empowerment that has diminished in young minority women.Las Madrinas are looking to make a difference within their culture amd community, by raising awareness.They will:Provide support and advocacy services for single mothers and lower the levels of teenage pregnancies in Northern Manhattan, Address the crisis of Obesity and Postpartum Depression in teenage mothers, Reduce the high school drop-out rate amongst minority teens, Offer STD and HIV/AIDS awareness programs and services, andProvide awareness, assistance and relocation for minority women victim to Domestic Violence.Las Madrinas objective is to create a workshop and provide a safe haven for the Ahijadas, and engage these women in positive productive activities that will benefit them in their search for a brighter future.Las Madrinas are chameleons, dedicated women of many talents. They continue to convey innovative and original ideas to every project and challenge that they take on!!!!!
