Wrists are for wimps. I'm going to slit my throat.

About Me

I've made three blackberry pies in the last two weeks. I moved to Arcata- grad school. It's kicking my ass. It's a bit slow here. Three record stores in town and not a piece of vinyl in any of them that I want. Hello mailorder. Coached a perfect season of varsity softball at RHS. I've given up hope that the good fight has any chance of success, yet I fight nonetheless. I've sworn off corn syrup. I've reduced addtional sugars. Two of my students got into Stanford. I hate CDs. I don't call people back in a timely manner. I rarely email people back at all. I am becoming more introverted as I age. I'm as immature as I ever have been and still deal with the same anger management issues that have been with me for years. The ADD and dyslexia still run strong.

My Interests

Boston Red Sox, My 2002 Kawasaki rs750. Hiking, Biking, Travelling, Reading, Vinyl collecting, Folk Art, The elimination of the Bush regime, The vegan straightedge, The dogs (Pokey and Pumpkin), The subversion of the dominant paradigm, The stuffing of my face with good vegan food, The buzzing of the gun and the prick of the needle injecting the ink, The destruction of the patriarchy

I'd like to meet:

Contacts in Arcata? Someone with disposable income to pay for my grad school tuition, someone who can hook me with a job in Arcata, someone who can give me sound financial advice, the genius who tipped my motorcycle and took off without a note, someone willing to teach me how to play the cello, every member of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox (not Bellhorn), bitter and jaded east coast transplants that listen to good music, people that want to go weekend camping, old friends and pals, the punk that stole my chrome Diamond Back in Northampton. I've met everyone else.

Music:

If it's heavy, harsh, abrasive, dark, moody, depressing, or motivated by leftist politics, then I probably listen to it. I've been busting old death metal demo cassettes lately: Lachrymator, Putrid Decay, Excoriate, and Delusion. The turntable has hit overdrive with Cro Mags, Pentagram, Peste Noire, Circulus, Watain, Wolves in the Throne Room, Hawkwind, Doomriders, Nachtmystium, Drudkh, Electric Wizard, and Crippled Black Phoenix filling my airspace with sounds of desperation, revolt, and angst. My neighbors must love me. They yell to me every night.

Movies:

The Transporter (guilty pleasure), V for Vendetta, Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple, The Bridge, Paradise Now, The Squid and the Whale, River's Edge, Underground, Black Cat White Cat, Ronin (the car chase scene!), Serial Mom, No Man's Land, My Left Foot, Search for the Holy Grail, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, March of the Penguins, Big Fish, and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

Television:

Television is dead.

Books:

Paradise Alley-Kevin Baker, Blood Meridian-Cormac McCarthy, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close-Jonathan Safran Foer, The History of Love-Nichole Krauss, John Brown: Abololitionist-David Reynolds, Handmaid's Tale-Margaret Atwood, Seductive Poison-Deborah Layton, The Kite Runner-Khaled Hosseini, What's My Name, Fool?-David Zirin, Walden-Henry David Thoreau, Shut Out-Howard Bryant, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time-Mark Haddon, The Crying of Lot 49-Thomas Pynchon, Fences-August Wilson, Fast Food Nation-Eric Schlosser, The Sexual Politics of Meat-Carol Adams, and Savage Inequalities by Johnathan Kozol.

Heroes:

Katherine McKinnon, Dave Mustaine, Tommie Smith, John Carlos, John Brown, David Meggyesy, Bill "Spaceman" Lee, Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd,...
