Contacts in Arcata? Someone with disposable income to pay for my grad school tuition, someone who can hook me with a job in Arcata, someone who can give me sound financial advice, the genius who tipped my motorcycle and took off without a note, someone willing to teach me how to play the cello, every member of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox (not Bellhorn), bitter and jaded east coast transplants that listen to good music, people that want to go weekend camping, old friends and pals, the punk that stole my chrome Diamond Back in Northampton. I've met everyone else.
If it's heavy, harsh, abrasive, dark, moody, depressing, or motivated by leftist politics, then I probably listen to it. I've been busting old death metal demo cassettes lately: Lachrymator, Putrid Decay, Excoriate, and Delusion. The turntable has hit overdrive with Cro Mags, Pentagram, Peste Noire, Circulus, Watain, Wolves in the Throne Room, Hawkwind, Doomriders, Nachtmystium, Drudkh, Electric Wizard, and Crippled Black Phoenix filling my airspace with sounds of desperation, revolt, and angst. My neighbors must love me. They yell to me every night.
The Transporter (guilty pleasure), V for Vendetta, Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple, The Bridge, Paradise Now, The Squid and the Whale, River's Edge, Underground, Black Cat White Cat, Ronin (the car chase scene!), Serial Mom, No Man's Land, My Left Foot, Search for the Holy Grail, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, March of the Penguins, Big Fish, and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
