The Rebirth

About Me

In the Winter of 1993 three young teens came together in an effort to form a band. With the love of music and a chance to perform in a school talent show, they took on the challenge. David Flowers, Martin Moore, and Charlie McEachron started to learn how to play and perform music. The only member in the group that had an instrument was David. He would become the guitar player. Martin would soon aquire a bass guitar and Charlie would have to play on a couch and uses pillows for drums. In March of 1994, Charlie's parents bought him his first drum set. It was a CB 700 International. After this investment the group started to practice and play songs. It was not too impressive. While struggling to "get it right " a family member, fellow drummer, and musician, Dale Wayman, lent his advise and training to the group. In eight short months the band started to gel and was ready for the talent show try out. The band was still in need of a name. The members got together and started brainstorming. Here is how the name came about. the member of the group were considered "Rebels" to some point, we did not want to follow the norm. The next part came from us being "Stained" by our life experiences. There you have Rebel Stain. The band tried out and earned a spot in the talrnt show but to our dismay the persons in charge wanted us to play only a thirty second clip of our song choice and it was just the fill between songs. As stated before we did not care too much for what others wanted us to do. After getting pissed, we went back to the table and created "Twilight Zone" a dark, heavy song (came from the thirty second clip) about drug use, drug dealing, and the hopelessness of tring to get away from it all. The song lasted for more than four minutes. We played the song without permission and was rewarded with a standing ovation. In 1995 David left the band for better things. We brought in keyboard player, Matt Tucker, and continued to make music. In 1996 tragedy struck. Martin was on his way to work, coming from Dickson,Tennessee, when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree head on. Martin was dead at the scene. Rebel Stain dismembered. Now, 11 years after, the band has been reborn. Kenny Bryant has taken over the guitar. Brian Blackwell is on the bass. Last but not least Charlie "The Irish Jackhammer" is once again behind the drums. As we venture through new and old material things are starting to become interesting. We are using basic recording equipment but are in the process of buy the "right stuff" It will be awhile before the CD is recorded but as new song are put down we hope to get them out for your hearing pleasure
