Garden State Horror Writers

I am here for Networking

About Me

The Garden State Horror Writers is a multi-genre organization that serves as both a networking and a resource tool for writers in the tri-state area. The group consists primarily of horror and dark fiction writers, but also includes science fiction, fantasy, mainstream, mystery, romance and non-fiction writers, as well as others on the fringe of the field, such as editors, illustrators, screenwriters, agents and publishers.Founded in 1990 by author Pat Graversen, the Garden State Horror Writers started as a casual get-together of writers in people’s homes or at diners, to discuss the industry and trade stories. Today the group has grown to a membership body of over fifty, including genre greats such as authors Doug Clegg and Jack Ketchum and editors Ellen Datlow and Don D’Auria. For information regarding events, schedules or publications of the group, please visit our website at www.gshw.net or contact an officer. President Gary Frank can be reached at [email protected], vice-president Brian Pedersen at [email protected] edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The Garden State Horror Writers continues every year to establish a name and solid reputation in the writing community. The group offers its members a monthly electronic newsletter which keeps up-to-date on industry news, members’ sales, recently published books, and a calendar of organization-related events. Several members share news, market info, notices of upcoming events and tales of the trade through an e-mailed newsgroup.Events run by the group include guest speaker presentations, readings, signings, two annual holiday parties, and at times, trips.Meetings are held monthly at the Monmouth county Public Library on Route 9 in Manalapan.
