The long story of the band has begun in March 2006. Fifteen-year-old Lukas Rappitsch founded the band with one of his best friends Lukas Venus. After a short search Stefan Rindler joined the band as a singer but the greatest problem was to find one or two guitarists for a fine and roaring sound. The band changed the guitarist every two weeks. But after the third change Christopher Schweinzer kept on belonging to the band, which was called until that time “Nothing but all”. So they started to make music.
After two cover songs they decided to test one of the self-written songs of the band-founder. After the first two songs, “Nothing but all” and “Day Zero” they all wanted to promote Lukas Rappitsch to the fix songwriter and organiser. They didn’t wait any longer and increased their ability in music and other points, which are important for a band on stage. Their only big aim was to come out of their cellar and come on live on stage. Stefan Rindler wasn’t able to play the whole playlist with the unprofessional growl, he had used in that time. He improved his voice but also Moritz Pollinger gets invited from the band as a shouter and clean singer. After the new entry of a band-member the whole project got more professional and it was baptised on the name ZODIAC .

They started to invest money and a lot of time. But not far away waited the next trap for the growing boys. Christopher Schweinzer started to tear down and he pushed the band into the last corner. As a first reaction fourteen-year-young Alexander Lackner joined the band and turned it into a stage-able band. He made the sound more driving and he brought the last glimpse for a new sounding and also new looking band. Their playlist was enlarged to six songs.

And so on the 27. April 2007 they had their first gig in a bar called Joy in Jennersdorf with a good fellow band called Black Label… ahh, Black Painted Reality. It was a great experience and a big help for the future, because three gigs get offered. A month later they rocked the hall of Campusrock 2007 with a new song and the other “usual” songs. In night of 1st June they got ensured to play also at Campusrock 2008.
In their long holidays they decided to record five of the seven songs on their first EP. “Day Zero”, “I (Am A Part Of You)”, “Fallout Erases Everything”, “Scream” and last but certainly not least “Revelation” were hold in memories on the Elective Play called “A Trip To The Dark Side”. Shortly after the records in Farmer Studios they played their first open-air gig at the Alternative Stage in Fürstenfeld at the end of August. There the six young boys were able to make their first contacts with professional musicians in metal genre like Perishing Mankind or The Sorrow.
At the first chance on selling the new CD the fans bought more than fifty pieces. But the band didn’t rest. They studied new songs and at their next gig in September they played already nine songs. One day later Christopher Schweinzer broke his hand badly and ZODIAC had two weeks rest and then they searched a helping guitarist for a near-coming gig. Philipp Archan helped them for about five weeks.
Meanwhile the rest of the band denied that Christopher Schweinzer could hold the line after the break because he wasn’t the best musician too. So they invited Michael Iber as a new guitarist. On the 21st of December2007 they played their last show with Christopher Schweinzer in their favourite bar, the Gruam, in Fürstenfeld. On this occation they want to thank him and ZODIAC wishes him good luck for his future.
After the short Winter break they started to renew the old songs, but also to study five new songs which waited until April to be shown. Also the equipment got the new professional touch of a good working band. The two guitarists play the same amplifier for an equal sound and a bass amplifier was also bought for easier transport and a big fat sound. Also a big acquisition was the drum set which has very much abilities in playing [watch the pics]. So they were ready to start into the new year 2008 with new equipment, new members and a lot of new songs.After the productive halftime of 2008 they get much more experience and after the CAMPUSROCK 08 festival, Michael Iber has brought into the band very well. In this time they brought out their first T-Shirt which was sold out after five months. They take the occation again to thank the loyal fans for invest some bugs in ZODIAC merchandise. In the summer the band played more shows and earned some money for the upcoming second recording session. ZODIAC lay more attention on the perfection of each song so the second part of 2008 the band prisoned theirselves into the cellar.
