Lenny R Annex was born in Greenwich Village NYC in 1976, and his parents swiftly moved to the UK where he was raised in Cockfosters, London. Both his parents were musical; his father Brian was a classically trained pianist and cellist, and his mother Angie was a member of various musical collaborations, the most memorable being with "Legs and Co". They'd moved to England to try and give him a chance at getting into the Royal College of Music. Of course, his over-ambitious parents had their dreams shattered as he seemed to have no interest in music at all... but then, he was barely on solids. In 1982 he received a Bontempi F-111 keyboard as a christmas present, and to their delight he seemed more enthusiastic about this instrument. Perhaps it was the fact that it was electronic, almost toy-like.. nevertheless, he found himself captivated with his new machine. Tragically, his mother Angie died of laughter in the autumn of '84. This crushed both himself and Brian. It was not long after this point that music had become Lenny's only escapism...and outlet. Now, let's set the way-back-machine to 1994. He had developed fantastic skills as a pianist and was accepted into the Royal College with the intention of following in his father's footsteps, but unfortunately his interests in his Atari/Bontempi/Casio/Yamaha collection were frowned upon, and within a year he was expelled for having "a shit left hand".
Ever since then, he has pursued electronic music, particularly in the disco arena (thanks to his mum's influence), and has enjoyed musical successes in various outfits over the last 9 years, although he always used an alter-ego; people genuinely thought that his name was a joke and he wanted to be taken seriously, especially as his childhood was shrouded in mockery. After years of being insulted with names like Stave Dewart and Red Todgers, it is here on MySpace with much courage, that Lenny wishes to join you all in this wonderful online community.
