TheGuttersluts (SarahG+MissB)2007 DJ PROFILE : SARAH G
Introducing one of the original Sundissential Residents - the small but loud one who comes action packed with glowing reviews from Gatecrasher and support from Mixmag, Ministry of Sound and Galaxy Radio. Sarah G is one of the UK's hottest female djs gracing the decks at worldwide dance events. Her love affair with the dance scene began over twelve years ago primarily as a devoted clubber experiencing the beginnings of a new revolution at The Hummingbird and the high times at Birmingham's infamous gay club TinTins. She moved on to become a dancer, vinyl junkie, bar manager, promoter, artist manager, dj, producer and ultimately one of the most highly reputable female artists in the country. Sarah's rapid rise to the forefront of the UK scene started in 1999 when she was spotted at her weekly residency at Forbidden in Leicester. By January 2000 she had shot into Mixmag's Top Ten Breakthrough DJs at Number Two, receiving a three page feature article in the magazine and a substantial amount of support from the UK music press. Renowned for her outstanding technical skills and inspirational performances Sarah fast became one of the nations favourite female djs playing at every major club across the UK and gaining an impressive string of residencies along the way from Sundissential to Progress, Golden, Hotdog, Bubblelove, Republica and Oxygen in Edinburgh. Initially recognised for her slamming hard energy and trance workouts she now commands one of the largest music repertoires that any dj has to offer playing a huge range of styles with enviable expertise from house to tribal, funky techno, trance, hard trance, hard energy and techno. She cannot suppress her desire to evolve and develop her sound combining the best elements from a colourful history in the dance music industry with all the international influences she has gained from the global party scene during the last 6 years. She now also plays her house sets under the DJ name NinjaGirl having set up the NinjaGirlMusic brand to celebrate the international sound of house in Spring 2006. Watching Sarah in action is an absolute pleasure - she delivers stunning performances with focus and imagination. Her sets can be laced with intense emotion, driven by pure energy or laden with funk and percussion making her one of the most exciting and adaptable artists in the world. Her ability to build explosive sets has made her a firm favourite with clubbers, promoters and djs in every continent. Sarah received glowing reviews from Gatecrasher for her two performances at Gatecrasher Summer Sound System whilst Andy Farley named her as one to watch in DJ Magazine. Andy also granted her a residency at his Release events where they have spun marathon eight hour back to back sets and released two exclusive compilation albums. Sarah's mix cds have been recommended by Mixmag and her live performances have been broadcast on some of the world's greatest dance radio stations including Galaxy FM, Kiss 100, Maxima FM, Metro and Ministry of Sound Radio. In 2004 to celebrate Birmingham Pride she was honoured to be invited to mix a cd released alongside a rare and exclusive Tony De Vit mix in the limited edition double pack "Afters... & Past Masters" Sarah likes to write her own original material with most of her productions carrying her own beautifully written melodies. In 2002 "The Joint Track" was released on the German trance label Beatz Only and soon featured on Sony's Dreamdance 21 compilation album. Next came hard trance floor filler "Flight Path" released in March 2003 on Italian label Gas Europe and snapped up by Dutch giants ID&T for the Defqon Album celebrating Holland's Q-Dance Festival. This little power pack has had 8 years of professional DJ experience playing across America, Asia, Australia, Europe, Russia and Scandinavia. She has represented the cream of UK artists on the Slinky World Tours in Asia, Ministry of Sound Tours in Iceland and Marlboro Tours in Russia. Originally from Singapore she has rapidly become a popular international guest in Asia with regular solo tours across China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.PLANET G : 5300+ Visitors Onwards (12Dec2007)
